Implants
A dental implant mimics the shade, size, and function of a natural tooth, which consists of a root and a crown. The crown is the visible part of your tooth. The crown is connected to the jaw bone through the root which is embedded in the bone. When decay has gone deep enough or when the periodontal disease has advanced enough to warrant an extraction, the entire tooth, root and all, is removed to prevent infection and pain. The dental implant is a titanium fixture that replaces the root of the tooth. Once the fixture (implant) heals, we place an abutment and crown on top to match the shape and size of your missing tooth. The new crown is customized to match your bite and the color of your teeth.
